President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he will nominate three Texans, including Austin lawyer Sean Jordan, to become federal judges in the state.

Jordan will be tapped to fill a U.S. district court vacancy in Plano, said U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who said the state “will be well-served by these individuals on the bench.”

Jordan is a partner in the Austin office of Jackson Walker and is co-chairman of the law firm’s appellate practice group. He was formerly the principal deputy solicitor general in the Texas attorney general’s office, where he represented the state in federal and state court appeals, and received his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Texas.
