AUSTIN, Texas — Election Day is on the horizon, and some voters may be wondering where exactly they're allowed to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

To vote on Election Day, you'll need to see if your county participates in the Countywide Polling Place Program (CWPP). If it does, you can vote at any polling place in the county. If it doesn't, you can only vote at the polling place assigned to you on Election Day.

In Central Texas, the following counties participate in the CWPP: Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Lee and Milam. That means residents can cast their ballots at any voting location within those counties, as long as they're registered to vote in that county.

Meanwhile, any voter in Caldwell, Fayette, Gillespie, Llano and Mason counties will have to vote in the specific precinct that is listed on their voter card.

Remember: If you are not already registered to vote in this election, you will not be allowed to cast your ballot on Tuesday because Texas does not have same-day registration. But if you are registered, all polling places across Texas will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Here is a list of Election Day polling places in Central Texas.

As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you will be able to vote. For info on what you need to bring with you, click here. To brush up on some other polling place rules, click here.
