Coach Rick Barnes has Tennessee No. 1 in the nation

The former Texas Longhorns Basketball coach is No. 1 for the first time since 2010.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee, led by former Texas Longhorns coach Rick Barnes, is the new No. 1 team in the nation in college basketball.

Losses by Duke, Virginia and Michigan last week helped the Volunteers take over the top spot in the rankings.

It's the first time Barnes has coached a No. 1 team since Texas held the top spot for two weeks in January of 2010.
