CASTELL, Texas — Need something to do this weekend? The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department is looking for volunteers to help revitalize the areas that have been destroyed by flooding.
Last fall, the banks of the Llano River were flooded. Crops and vegetation were destroyed, making it difficult for animals and fish to survive.
"What we're trying to do is add native plants to the area before invasive species take over," said John Botros, a biologist with Texas Parks & Wildlife.
Botros said if invasive species take over, it will be difficult for the river to look like it used too.
