PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — The Pflugerville Library is making the Internet laugh this week after a ssssilly typo in a local paper.
According to a Facebook post made by the library Monday, the paper incorrectly stated that the library would have snakes instead of snacks at their "Teen Anti Prom" event on April 12.
"We will have snacks. Snacks is what we will have," the post reads. "Not to say we have anything against snakes. In fact, snakes will be at the library in May during the Teen De-Stressing Day: Reptile Hangout."
The post has gone viral, making the rounds on Reddit and Twitter. It also has over 3,000 reactions on Facebook.
The Teen Anti Prom is an event intended to allow young people to "dance (or not) the night away, no matter your sexuality, gender identity, beliefs, or any other reason." According to the Facebook event page, the anti prom will be fairy tale-themed and feature a DJ, a mini Instax photo booth and free snacks (not snakes).
The "Teen De-Stressing Day: Reptile Hangout" on May 22, however, will be an event where young people can take a break from studying for finals by coloring, fusing beads and hanging out with live reptiles – including snakes.
The library has also updated their "Teen Space" bookshelf to remind people about the level of snakes to expect at Teen Anti Prom:
To conclude, as the Facebook post put it: "April 12. No snakes. May 22. Yes snakes."
