Hoosiers trip Longhorns in NCAA Tournament, ending Sweet 16 streak

Indiana upset Texas, 69-65.

EUGENE, Ore. — Karen Aston's Longhorns trailed by two points with 20 seconds remaining. Plenty of time to tie the game or win this first round NCAA Tournament game.

Instead, Texas guard Sug Sutton tripped over an Indiana Hoosier's foot after receiving a pass from Destiny Littleton sliding out of bounds. That turned the ball over to Indiana, who won the game, 69-65.

Texas led at halftime, 37-29.

But 23 Longhorn turnovers was a significant reason for the early exit from the Women's NCAA Tournament and an early trip back to Austin from Eugene, Oregon.

Senior Danni Williams led Texas with 15 points.

Friday's night's loss to Indiana snapped a four-season streak of reaching at least the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.
