AUSTIN, Texas — Starting on Friday, several schools in Central Texas will compete in the National High School Cheer Championship (NHSCC) in Orlando, Florida, including the current reigning champions, Westlake High School.

This was supposed be the Bastrop cheerleading squad's first time to compete on the national stage. However, they posted on Facebook in December that they did not have the finances to send the team to Florida, but they would still be competing at State.

The event will go from Feb. 7 through Feb. 9 and will be hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. You can watch the competition here.
