AUSTIN, Texas — On Thursday, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) of Texas released its reclassifications and realignments for football districts for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. And some high schools in the Austin area will be facing new district competition for the next two years.
District alignments are decided based on enrollment numbers and geography and are in effect for two seasons before the UIL goes through the process again.

Below is a breakdown of the districts that will include Austin-area schools.
UIL 6A
Hutto moves to 6A - District 25. But District 26 loses Anderson, which drops to 5A, and Buda Johnson, which move to District 29 with San Antonio schools.
