Longhorns leading scorer Kerwin Roach suspended indefinitely, UT says

The University of Texas released a statement Friday morning writing, “Kerwin Roach II has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team rules.”

AUSTIN, Texas — Shaka Smart’s Longhorns will begin their final five-game stretch of the regular season in Oklahoma on Saturday.

They will do so without their leading scorer, senior Kerwin Roach.

The University of Texas released a statement Friday morning writing, “Kerwin Roach II has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team rules.”

This is a significant blow to a team which has struggled on the road with a 2-4 record in Big 12 road games. Texas is 15-11 overall and is in dire need of wins to solidify their resume with hopes of receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in March.

Three of the Horns' final five games are away from the Frank Erwin Center.

Roach averages 15 points per game and 3.1 assists per game as well.
