The Astros are heading to the World Series. Yeah, you know that already, but we’re still celebrating the weekend win over that New York team.
And while our sights are now set squarely on the Nationals, let’s go back one more time to see some of the best celebrations you had when Jose Altuve hit that blast that sent the Astros to baseball's Fall Classic.
There was no shortage of jumping, shouting, and cheering among Astros fans Saturday night.
Jack Deakins, a lifelong fan, jumped up so high, he hit his head on a door frame.
“I told my roommate, I need to go to the hospital and I was really happy, because the Astros are going to the World Series,” Deakins said.
The Houston native, who now lives in Southern California, gave himself a concussion and had to get five staples in his head that night.
On the bright side, he says the post-game show was on in the emergency room.
“It’s got to be the dumbest injury I’ve ever had,” said Deakins. “I’m probably a little slower in the head now. I was just stoked the Astros won.”
Deakins plans to be more careful while watching his favorite team this week.
“I’m going to have to tame my celebrations a little bit. Maybe strap myself down,” he joked.
And if you had a great reaction to the game or fan photos, we want to see. Email a video clip or photo to us at newstips@khouc.om.
