SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio's Victor Wembanyama and Louis Vuitton have teamed up, with the fashion line tapping the star NBA rookie as its new brand ambassador.
“Striving for excellence and with a perpetual honing of craft, Victor joins Louis Vuitton on a journey of shared values and aligned ambitions," the fashion company said in a release. "Like Louis Vuitton himself, the young athlete has blazed a trail, excelling in a career that is only just beginning."
According to GQ Sports, the two sides began talks last year when Wemby was still in France playing with the Metropolitans 92.
“To me, it's the best,” Wembanyama said to GQ Sports. “It's the best partner I can think of.”
“I wanted a meaningful partnership. To me it made a lot of sense to partner with LV—you know, French excellence. The expertise is something that I feel very much attracted to.”
On NBA Draft Night 2023, Wembanyama's suit was made by the French fashion house and you can expect him to wear more Vuitton outfits in the coming days.
“[Fans] can expect me to wear nice and beautiful clothes, which has been, before in my life, a struggle but is now possible with LV," he said to GQ Sports.
Wemby certainly has a unique clothing style.
He recently sported a GI Joe Snake Eyes look ahead of the team's most recent game against the Raptors.
