DALLAS — Gamesmanship or coincidence?

On the night before the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs tip-off the 2024 season from the American Airlines Center, it's unlikely Spurs players got a decent night's sleep. In a video posted to Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan's Instagram stories, it seems the fire alarm at the team's hotel in Dallas was blaring at 11:53 p.m.

On the video, Sochan captioned "Damn what mavs fan did this before the first game of the season?"

"It's a false alarm, too," Sochan continued to say. "They're playing with us, man."

It's unclear which hotel the Spurs were staying at or why the fire alarm went off, but it seems the Spurs are convinced it's a Mavs fans' doing.

Dallas and San Antonio will tip off at 6:30 p.m. on TNT. The season opener will not be on KFAA, but all 70 non-nationally televised Mavericks games will be. Here is a look at how you can watch Mavs games with KFAA this season
