KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Texas gave Kansas a battle in Kansas City but couldn't make the shots in the final two minutes.

The Jayhawks eliminated the Longhorns in the Big 12 Tournament, 65-57.

Dylan Osetkowski and Jase Febres led the Longhorns, who kept it close in the first half, leading at times.

It was tied 29-29 at the break.

The Jayhawks' offense hit on more cylinders in the second half, building a lead and forcing Texas to try to battle back.

Kerwin Roach did not start but came off the bench to hit three free throws and a three-point shot.

Texas is 16-16 on the season.

There has never been an at-large NCAA team with a .500 record or with 16 losses.

NCAA Tournament bids will be announced on Selection Sunday.
