AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Longhorns head coach Rodney Terry's postgame scuffle has gone viral following Wednesday's loss.
The Longhorns collapsed in the second half to the UCF Golden Knights, blowing a 16-point lead at home, which led to the 77-71 loss.
While Texas fell to 1-3 in Big 12 play after the loss, it's Terry's reaction to some UCF players showing the 'Horns Down' hand gesture that's gone viral.
Cameras spotted Terry confronting players in the handshake line saying, "That's classless." Terry addressed the interaction after the game.
"You know, I'm a big believer in you win the right way, you lose the right way," Terry said. "About six or seven guys putting the 'Horns Down' ... We don't do that. Because we do you do those things, it looks very classless. It also looks like you were just hoping to win."
UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins said he didn't see what happened, but that he would go back and review in incident.
"That's not the type of program we run," Dawkins said. "So if I see that, I would be addressing that personally ... I'll go back and review what happened, and if there's any action that needs to be taken on my end, then I will do that."
The Longhorns are now 12-5 on the season but near the bottom of the Big 12 Conference. Wednesday's loss was also only their second inside of the Moody Center.
Terry and the Longhorns have their work cut out for them. All of their next six opponents are currently ranked in the top 25, including #9 Baylor and #5 Houston.
