There’s more burnt orange in NOLA -- and a Georgia fan is a fan of a Longhorn legend

We hit the burnt orange jackpot with Longhorn fans and a Georgia fan who's a fan of a Longhorn legend-slash-Heisman Trophy winner.

NEW ORLEANS — Saturday was another fun day in NOLA, mainly because we saw some familiar faces.

We hit the burnt orange jackpot with Longhorn fans and a Georgia fan who's a fan of a Longhorn legend-slash-Heisman Trophy winner.

A late morning stroll down historic Canal Street included burnt orange, Longhorn flags and Longhorn fans.

"Hook ‘Em, beat Georgia," a UT fan said, as he and his parents were walking on the sidewalk.

But where are the Longhorns fans in New Orleans? Definitely not near our hotel, the Marriott, across the street from the New Orleans Convention Center.

Well, one block away on Canal Street, I met the Tien family from Austin. All of them are Longhorn fans who decided to book a room at this Marriott, the UT team hotel. An ideal location, they said.

"We get to see the players, we get to see the buses.”

The jaunt continued down Canal, and I met a lovely couple who are Georgia fans -- and fans of the Tyler Rose.

"I'm a big fan of Earl Campbell. My son works on the sidelines for the Bulldogs. I told him you have to get a picture of him."

No confirmation yet if Earl will be making the trip for the Sugar Bowl or not. If he is, Ill gladly take a photo of their son with the Tyler Rose, UT’s first Heisman Trophy winner.
