PARIS, France — A Central Texas native has punched a ticket to the Olympics – again.

Taylor High School grad Fred Kerley will represent the U.S. in Paris this year, running the 100-meter dash. Kerley finished third in the team trials, with a time of 9.88.

After his qualifying sprint, Kerley promised a spectacle in the "City of Light."

"As a vet, we train for these races right now, so on to the next one," Kerley said. "At the Olympic Games, we'll be ready to put on a show."

Kerley is an Olympics veteran. He earned a silver medal in Tokyo in 2020, in the 100-meter dash. Kerley ran his personal best at the time in the race, but was beat out by Texas-born Italian Lamont Marcell Jacobs.
