For the third time in the short nine-year history of the Texas Stars hockey team in Cedar Park, the Stars have advanced to the Calder Cup Finals.
The Stars beat the Rockford Ice Hogs 2-1 in overtime in the Western Conference Finals in six games, 4-2.
The Stars, who are the primary developmental team for the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars, captured the Calder Cup in 2014.
The Calder Cup Finals begin on Saturday in Toronto. The Stars faces the Marlies, a team the Stars didn’t face the entire season.
