SAN MARCOS, Texas — The struggle is real in San Marcos as the Texas State football team desperately needs a win.
The Texas State Bobcats competed against the Georgia Southern Eagles Thursday night in a Sun Belt Conference game at the Bobcat Stadium.
This is the third season of the Everett Withers era and it has been a disappointment for Bobcat Nation. Texas State is 5 to 24 since coach Withers arrived in 2016.
Currently, the Bobcats are 1 to 4 overall and 0 to 2 in Sun Belt Conference play.
A member of the Texas State Athletics staff said the team is close to turning the corner.
"It all depends on the quarterback,” the staff member said.
