AUSTIN — A first in NFL history will occur in New Orleans Sunday afternoon when Drew Brees and Nick Foles square off in an NFC divisional playoff game. It will be the second time the two quarterbacks from Westlake High School and their franchises will meet in a postseason game, but Saturday will be a tad different.
Foles joined the Super Bowl MVP fraternity after guiding the Eagles to a Super Bowl championship last season. The same fraternity Brees joined after guiding the Saints to a Super Bowl title in 2010.
For the first time in NFL history, two Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks from the same high school will meet in a playoff game.
Joe Taylor manages social media for the Westlake Nation platforms. The voice of Chaparrals tweeted this last night.
A tweet which went viral in a matter of hours.
"I'm not surprised," said Taylor. "It was a welcome sight of over 4,000 likes and over 1,500 retweets. At the end of the day, when something historic happens with this particular program, people seem to take notice."
