Texas Longhorns football attendance had an average of more than 100,000 fans a game from 2009 to 2012. But it slipped to 92,777 in 2017. Will it go up in 2018?
UT officials released a statement on Friday that "due to high demand, there will be no general public single-game tickets available for (Texas vs USC on September 15)".
Officials claim UT has sold more than 5,500 new season tickets and has experienced the highest season-ticket renewal rate in four years.
Texas did have its largest crowd ever for the win over Notre Dame in 2016, but a losing season caused the average attendance to slip to 97,881 that year. It slipped even more last year as Texas continues to try to attain the high level it reached from 2000 to 2009.
The Longhorns ten highest attendance years are all since 2008 when DKR Texas Memorial Stadium was renovated and enlarged.
