AUSTIN, Texas — The COVID-19 pandemic may be interrupting a lot of plans, but it doesn't have to stop your celebration of the planet.
Mikaila Ulmer, the CEO and founder of Me and the Bees Lemonade, started her business at age four with the mission of saving the bees.
For her, Earth Day is every day. She said the holiday is an opportunity for people to start new sustainable living habits.

On her website, she's offering ways to celebrate Earth Day while maintaining social distance protocols.
She lists upcycling bottles and using "byo-bags" and includes tips for gardening and how to make your own hand sanitizer.
"Whether it’s flowers because it’s beneficial to pollinators, whether it’s food and vegetables because you’re not putting pesticides on them and you’re helping the environment," Ulmer said.
She also offers a tutorial on how to make a reusable bag out of an old T-shirt.
On Friday, April 24, Ulmer will be speaking with the Austin Climate Coalition about the environment.
On Aug. 18, she will release a book to celebrate 10 years of business. In it, she tells her story while offering advice for entrepreneurs.
