PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — One person is dead after a crash on southbound State Highway 130 in Pflugerville Thursday afternoon.

The Pflugerville Police Department said at around 2:30 p.m. that officers, deputies with the Travis County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were working a major collision on 130 southbound, just south of Cameron Road. Police said the crash had resulted in one death, and an investigation is underway.

Pflugerville police said most of the southbound lanes of 130 are closed, and as of 3:30 p.m., there is no estimated time for the road to reopen. As a result of the closures, the traffic backup is stretching well into Pflugerville on the toll road.

Police said it is "crucial" for drivers to avoid the area if possible because southbound traffic already tends to get jammed up in the afternoon. Drivers heading northbound into Pflugerville from Austin or Manor should also expect delays "due to onlookers."

No additional information is available at this time.
