AUSTIN, Texas — American Airlines confirmed to KVUE on Wednesday that it has a new daily flight from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ).
The airline said the new flight to Albuquerque starts on Jan. 4.
American also confirmed that seasonal flights to Denver run from Dec. 16 to Jan. 3, but then will become year-round starting March 3. Saturday flights from Austin to Aspen will run from Jan. 4 to March 2 and will become daily from March 3 to April 4.
American Airlines said that in the last year, it has added more than 25 new nonstop routes to and from Austin.
This comes after the airline recently announced it would be breaking ground on a new 15,000-square-foot "Admirals Club" at AUS. American Airlines said in a press release Tuesday that the lounge would seat more than 250 customers, making it "the largest airport lounge in Austin, Texas."
“We can’t wait to offer this exciting new amenity to passengers,” said Jacqueline Yaft, AUS CEO. “The new Admiral’s Club strengthens the investments made by American Airlines at AUS and will bring an elevated experience to travelers that will reflect the culture, music and art that locals and visitors alike love so much about Austin.”
