AUSTIN, Texas — It looks as if Central Texas is getting tricked and not treated this year. A strong cold front will make for the coldest Halloween in 28 years!
Afternoon high temperatures are only expected to be in the low 50s. The last time Halloween was this cold was with a high of 50 degrees in Austin on Oct. 31, 1991.
Make sure to dress warm for trick-or-treating! Temperatures will drop quickly into the 40s shortly after sunset.
Wind speeds will be decreasing Thursday evening. Expect a north wind at 5 to 15 mph. That will produce wind chills in the 30s at times late Thursday evening. Here's a look at temperatures across the area at 8 p.m. on Halloween night:
