Mother Nature might just bring us two mornings with below-freezing temperatures this week.
The coldest conditions of the week moved in Tuesday morning with temperatures dropping into the lower 20s at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. This was our first widespread freeze of the season for Central Texas.
Temperatures are expected to remain well below average through the second half of the week behind a mid-week cold front with dry weather.
The pattern for below-average temperatures will continue for the rest of the workweek into the weekend.
An additional surge of cold air is expected to enter Central Texas Friday morning. Freezing temperatures could return to the forecast, but not as widespread as the temperatures on Tuesday morning. While not all in agreement, some forecast models indicate temperatures dropping to 32 degrees for the northwestern and central portions of the KVUE area.
