AUSTIN, Texas — While the first half of the week held warm conditions across Central Texas, be prepared to break out the fall jackets again as the workweek comes to a close.
On Wednesday night, a dry cold front entered the region, bringing much chillier temperatures to spots especially in the Hill Country, where some areas saw a 10- to 20-degree drop from Wednesday morning. In fact, some areas in Llano, Mason and Gillespie counties had lows get down to the upper 30s Thursday morning.
Clear skies will allow cooler temperatures to develop overnight Thursday into Friday, when weather model outputs decrease temperatures to the 40s areawide on Friday morning. A few pockets could even dip into the upper 30s again.
After that, Central Texas warms up just in time for the weekend before another cold front comes in Monday with a better storm chance.
