AUSTIN, Texas —
The City of Austin is gearing up to keep the roads safe this winter with a winter weather preparedness training event Thursday morning.
The City's Street and Bridge Operations Division held field training on topics like handling chainsaws for debris removal and applying different things to the road like brine, new salt pellets and dolomite. They also went over how to properly install chains on tires.
The City's main focus will be keeping the roads clear and passable during a winter emergency.
