Flash Flood Warning for Williamson County expires

The warning was until 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — A Flash Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service for Williamson County expired at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28.

Some locations that were included in the warning include Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Anderson Mill, Leander and Brushy Creek. 

The NWS reported that between 3 and 5 inches of rain had fallen in the area with a rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour. 

The Cedar Park Police Department said the heavy rain caused flooding issues in roadways near Spanish Oaks subdivisions. Additionally, CPPD said low water crossings at these roads had been closed: 

  • Peach Tree Lane
  • Cedar Park Drive 
  • Sumac Lane 
  • Cypress Lane 
  • Krienke Ranch Road

The crossings were all reopened by 12 p.m. on Sunday

In addition to the warning, the NWS issued a Flood Advisory for both Williamson and Travis Counties. The NWS warned of minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. That advisory ended at 12:15 a.m.
