We continue to monitor our fire weather concerns through at least Saturday with low humidity still in place.
The weekend forecast should be just about completely dry with just a small chance for a showers or storm Sunday evening. However, it will be breezy with wind gusts up to 35 mph possible for Sunday. A Wind Advisory will be in effect for Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Lee, Travis and Williamson counties from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Humidity levels surge early next week thanks to that south wind. This will set the stage for our next chance for rain and storms in the Monday-Tuesday timeframe. As of now, the details are a little fuzzy as far as storm coverage, but we have at least scattered rain in the forecast both days.
We will also have to keep a close eye on the potential for strong storms. The Storm Prediction Center currently includes much of the KVUE area in the storm outlooks for both Monday and Tuesday. There is a "marginal" – level 1 out of 5 – risk for strong storms late Monday. A "slight" – level 2 out of 5 – risk for severe weather on Tuesday.
The KVUE Storm Team will continue to monitor this developing forecast. Download KVUE's app for updates and to check radar: kvue.com/app.
