One more 'fall-like' morning, then a major warm-up later this week

It's been a nice run of low humidity and refreshing mornings, but the heat is about to make a return.

AUSTIN, Texas — Monday morning dropped down to 60 degrees in Austin, making it the coolest morning since April 23. Outside of the city, many sensors reported temperatures in the low 50s. There were even isolated pockets than reach the mid 40s across the Hill Country early Monday. Unfortunately for fans of the fall chill, this has been more of a "false fall", and we're certainly not done with the heat just yet.

With that being said, we still have one more morning to enjoy the refreshing temperatures. Tuesday morning will start in the low and mid 60s along and east of I-35, and most of the Hill Country will once again drop into the 50s. Enjoy it while it lasts, because the changes start mid-week.

Tropical Storm Francine will be passing by in the Gulf on Tuesday and Wednesday without any direct impacts to the KVUE area aside from a very small shower chance on Wednesday. However, we will see big up tick in tropical humidity across Central Texas that will have our air feeling "uncomfortable" to "tropical" by the middle and end of the week.

This increase in humidity will quickly put an end to our nice mornings.

On the dry side of the tropical system, our heat will also ramp up dramatically by late week and this weekend. We have high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s for Thursday through Saturday with some areas getting very close to the triple digits again.

Small rain chances and slightly cooler weather likely returns by early next week.

The KVUE Weather Team will continue to closely monitor this developing forecast.

In the meantime, the extended forecast can be found below:

Tropical Storm Francine continues to strengthen, while dry and warm conditions continue in Austin.
