Forecast: Rain moves east; Cool down for Election Day

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — Showers and storms from last night will gradually shift east out of the Coastal Plains Tuesday morning. Neighborhoods east of I-35 will pick up some additional beneficial rainfall as this happens, with no risk for severe weather. 

For Election Day, morning clouds will gradually clear as we head towards midday. With a cool northwesterly breeze in place temperatures this morning will range through the lower 60s and upper 50s, which will be a nice change of pace from 75 and muggy.

Cooler temperatures hold on through the afternoon, with highs at Camp Mabry expected to be in the lower to mid-70s. Conditions should be nice if you are headed to the polls, but be aware of any lasting slickness or debris on the roads from last night. 

Rain and storm chances do return on Thursday and Friday, with a low-end risk for severe weather.

30% rain and storms, east of I-35. Clearing midday. North wind at 5 to 15 mph.
LOW: 59

TUESDAY:
Clouds in the morning give way to afternoon sunshine. North wind at 10 mph.
HIGH: 73

TUESDAY NIGHT:
Clear and cool. Northeast wind at 5 to 10 mph.
LOW: 52

Clearing skies this morning, cool temperatures.
