AUSTIN, Texas — We were able to bring cooler temperatures to the end of the week this time.
Friday morning's lows range through the 40s for most in Central Texas, with a few Hill Country neighborhoods seeing upper the 30s. It should be a nice morning overall, with abundant sunshine and blue skies. Highs Friday afternoon will range through the mid- and upper 70s ahead of a weekend warmup.
Highs will be in the lower 80s Saturday and Sunday, with overnight temperatures boosting towards the 60s again. This will be short-lived, as a cold front approaches late Sunday night. The front is expected to bring a line of showers and thunderstorms through the region Monday, with a 50-60% chance of rain in Central Texas. The severe weather risk is low at this time.
Another cold front is slated for next Tuesday into Wednesday, and while it will involve less rain, it will double down on the cooler temperatures. High are expected to stay in the 60s Wednesday and Thursday, and overnight temperatures will also fall. It's possible next week could be our first attempt at near-freezing temperatures this fall.
