Austin-area storms cause road closures, flooding issues

The weather has caused some road closures, flash flooding and isolated power outages as storms move through on Saturday.

We have several rounds of rain expected through the Mother's Day weekend. A Flood Watch has been issued for the KVUE area that began on Friday night and will continue through at least 8 p.m. Saturday. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for portions of Bastrop, Caldwell and Fayette County until 11 a.m. Saturday.

The weather has caused some road closures, flash flooding and isolated power outages as storms move through on Saturday.

Here are the latest updates:

1:10 p.m. – Six low-water crossings were closed due to flooding, but they have been reopened. All low-water crossings in Austin are currently open, according to Austin's Watershed Protection Department.

10:40 a.m. – The low-water crossing at CR 100 at the San Gabriel River in Georgetown is closed. There are six total closures across the Austin area.

10:10 a.m. – A total of 526 Austin Energy customers are without power, down from more than 2,000 earlier on Saturday.

10 a.m. – According to ATXFloods.com, five low-water crossings are closed, including one in Hays County near the Blanco River, another at CR 323 in Lee County and at Brushy Creek in Round Rock.

8:45 a.m. – The City of Pflugerville said all park trails with low-water crossings are closed due to flooding.
