AUSTIN, Texas — A Wind Advisory is in place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for wind gusts close to 40 mph at times. Be sure to download the KVUE app for updates: kvue.com/app.

We're tracking the next cold front, and it's a strong one. You don't have to worry about severe weather with this one, but it will bring a significant temperature drop.

As the humidity levels increase ahead of our next front, Wednesday morning brings a cloudy sky and some patchy drizzle or mist.  As our front moves in, windy weather will help bring lower humidity and drop temperatures through the morning. We can expect to be in the 50s by midday before rebounding to the 60s with the help of sunshine for the afternoon.

This mass behind the front will be noticeably cooler for Wednesday afternoon through the beginning of the weekend. Highs will drop to the upper 60s and low 70s, which will be several degrees below average for this time of the year.

Morning lows will drop to the low to mid-40s, and some locations across the Hill Country could even have temperatures in the 30s for Thursday and Friday mornings.

The front will be pushing through early Wednesday morning and will likely struggle to provide any widespread rain. The current forecast calls for just a 10% chance of isolated showers and storms, mainly for areas east of Austin.

Rainfall totals, if any, over the week ahead should stay generally under a 10th of an inch.

Temperatures warm back to the 70s by the weekend with a bit more cloud cover in the forecast, but it will remain mostly dry.

The KVUE Storm Team will continue to monitor this developing forecast.
