Austin Energy reports less than 500 power outages during severe weather

Oncor, PEC and Bluebonnet also reporting several outages from Thursday's storms.

AUSTIN, Texas — Crews have been busy working to restore power to customers across Central Texas. Austin Energy reporting less than 500 customers are impacted by Thursday's severe thunderstorms.

As of 10:54 p.m. an update on the power outages across Central Texas.

  • Austin Energy: 468 customers
  • Oncor in Travis: 602 customers
  • Oncor in Williamson County: 1,861 customers
  • PEC: 1,750 customers
  • Bluebonnet: 592 customers

Per Austin Energy, these are the current numbers as of 8:03 p.m.:

  • 3,015 customers city-wide
  • Oncor in Travis County: 5,251 customers
  • Oncor in Williamson County: 1,810 customers
  • PEC: 4,071 in Georgetown area, 1,437 in Marble Falls
  • Bluebonnet: 70 out near Milam
  • Other, smaller communities also dealing with a number of outages

According to Austin Energy, crews have been out in the weather working to get customers' power back online.

Austin Energy stated, "high winds, lightning and broken tree limbs can cause localized outages." They are ready to respond to customers.

At the moment, it is unclear when power will be restored. The Austin area is expected to be under a number of severe weather advisories into the evening.
