AUSTIN, Texas — The KVUE Weather Team is tracking a low risk for one or two strong storms through Monday evening. This is a situation where most of the KVUE area will not see stormy weather, however, where storms can form they could be on the strong side.

So far this evening, there have been a couple of strong storms that have developed over the northern Hill Country, but they have not become severe. The northern Hill Country and northern I-35 corridor will be the main zones to watch through this evening.

The Storm Prediction Center previously included the northern half of our KVUE area in the 'marginal' - level 1 of 5 risk for severe storms, but all of the KVUE area has now been removed from the formal severe weather risk.

This does not mean there still couldn't be a strong storm or two with small hail and winds up to 40 miles per hour, but the overall severe weather risk is very low.

Any lingering storms will come to an end by about midnight if not earlier. The rest of the overnight will be dry, but some low clouds and patchy fog could develop by Tuesday morning.

The afternoon on Tuesday will bring near-record warmth with a high near 90 degrees in Austin.
