AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things going on in the Austin area! From classic films to a nostalgic concert, there's no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.

Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.

New Kids on the Block with Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, this show "Straight Up" might have "The Right Stuff." Hide from the heat at the movies

First, if you like watching films in unconventional settings, Mozart's Coffee will be screening "Sharknado" on a movie screen right on the water Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Another offbeat option? The Austin Public Library will host two movie screenings Sunday – "Legally Blonde" at 1 p.m. and "Best in Show" at 3 p.m. – at its Central location.

If you're a fan of the classics – both films and theaters – the Paramount might be the place for you. This weekend's Summer Classic Film Series offerings include:
