AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things going on in the Austin area! From Prince parties to Prostapalooza, there's no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.
Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.
Prince parties
Dearly beloved, it's time to celebrate "The Purple One." Friday would have marked Prince's 66th birthday and to honor the icon, several Austin spots plan to party like it's 1999, cranking Prince tunes and encouraging attendees to don their purple apparel.

- Purple People Party: A Tribute to Prince – Thursday at Antone's
- Prince's Birthday Party 2024 – Friday at Central Machine Works
- Body Rock ATX: Tribute to Prince – Friday at Sahara Lounge
- All Prince Birthday Party – Friday at Kenny Dorham's Backyard
- Prince Party - A Pretty Purple Birthday – Friday at Drinks Lounge & Records
There's nothing quite like a great movie score, and this weekend, you can hear the Austin Symphony Orchestra perform composer Jerry Goldsmith's most iconic contributions. Featured songs include works from "Rambo," "Gremlins," "Alien" "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and more.
When: Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Long Center for the Performing Arts, located at 701 W. Riverside Drive
Cheers! It's time for Prostapalooza! 2024 at Austin's historic Scholz Garten. Attendees can expect a full day of music, food and, of course, plenty of beer.
Performers will include the Austin Polka Band, Off the Grid, Terry Cavanagh's Alpine Express, Bottlerocket, Giant Hornets from Japan, Harvest Thieves and Nemegata. Beer showcases will include Paulaner Brewery, Owl's Brew, St. Elmo Brewing Co., Meanwhile Brewing, Zilker Brewing Company, Yuengling and Bear King Brewing.
When: Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.
Where: Scholz Garden, located at 1607 San Jacinto Blvd.
