AUSTIN, Texas — Driving the streets of Austin is a beautiful sight. Unique and captivating homes fill the City's neighborhoods, and now people in the community have the chance to peek their heads inside.
During the 12th Annual Austin Modern Home Tour on Saturday, guests can tour 14 different modern homes spread throughout Central Austin.
The event, organized by Goodlife Luxury and Modern Architecture + Design Society, gives architects, designers, home builders and developers the opportunity to showcase their talent and skills that contributed to Austin's beauty.
"A lot of the things that are interesting have to do with different configurations of living, cooking and dining and how all those things work within a given property, how they connect to each other and allow for a backdrop on life," said Matt Fajkus, owner of Matt Fajkus Architecture and who designed a home on the tour.
With the help Johnny Miars with Miars Construction, they renovated a 1964 home into the mid-century modern home it is today.
As a builder, Miars said these projects are daunting tasks due to their intricacy. He hopes people recognize that during the tour.

In addition, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., guests are invited to the Mid-Century Modern Block Party in Starlight Village.
