Keep Austin Local: Backspace Pizza

AUSTIN, Texas — KVUE wants to help “Keep Austin Local” by highlighting the local businesses, events and people that make Austin special.

On Monday, KVUE stopped by Backspace Pizza, a local restaurant that offers Neapolitan-style pizza.

The original Backspace Pizza opened in 2010 on Sixth Street in downtown. The name “backspace” comes from the original restaurant being opened in the back area of its sister restaurant, Parkside. In 2020, Backspace opened a second location on West Anderson Lane.

The restaurant is known for its Neapolitan-style pizza, but it also offers salad, pasta and dessert. The pizzas are made in a wood-fire oven and only take 90 seconds to cook. They also offer a full bar with house cocktails and an Italian wine list.

Backspace pizza is open seven days a week with lunch available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
