AUSTIN, Texas — Circuit of the Americas is hoping to raise $65 million to build its long-awaited COTALAND amusement park.

A pair of filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission detail that Delaware-based COTA Emerald Fund LP has already raised $46,460,000 of the total sum. Roughly $36.5 million of that is from a group of 14 unidentified investors and $10 million is from one single unidentified investor.

COTA's general counsel told the Austin Business Journal in an email that the money is from a recent fundraiser "in connection with amusement park construction," declining to comment further except to say COTA plans to "share the development with Austin in 2025."

What we know about COTALAND so far

Circuit of the Americas said in July that its Palindrome coaster was under construction. The 51 mph, 95-foot-tall ride will be part of COTALAND, which doesn't have a set completion date.

According to a COTALAND spokesperson, the Palindrome coaster will be the first Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster of its kind in the U.S. This type of ride allows passengers to travel forward and backward, with the possibility for launches, inversions and more. The Palindrome will have two inversions and will hold 12 riders at a time.

COTALAND is expected to offer more than 30 rides and cover more than 20 acres of land. Other new rides will include the Circuit Breaker, the first Tilt Coaster of its kind in the country; the Sky Blazer, the only pendulum swing ride in Texas; and the Texas Wildcat, the only Schwarzkopf coaster not only in the U.S. but throughout the world.
