Hutto City Council approves agreement for manufacturing plant Ovivo

The 110,000-square-foot facility will help bring nearly 100 new jobs to Hutto, the City said.

HUTTO, Texas — On Thursday evening, the Hutto City Council approved an agreement to bring global water treatment company Ovivo to Hutto.

The 110,000 square foot facility will help bring nearly 100 new jobs to Hutto, the City said.

Ovivo will build and operate the manufacturing plant at the Innovation Business Park, led by Titan Development in partnership with the City of Hutto.

“For the past few years, the City has been focused on bringing tech-oriented companies to Hutto,” the City of Hutto said in a release. “Ovivo will join the growing cluster of successful, high-tech manufacturers at Innovation Business Park, including Kval Inc. and Brycomm.”

Products to be produced at the plant include ceramic membranes made from silicon carbide that filter water and wastewater.

Ovivo has facilities worldwide, as well as offices in nearby Round Rock.

The agreement requires the company to invest $25 million by the end of 2024 at the Hutto site. It must also create at least 96 full-time jobs by the end of 2027.

Construction on the site is expected to begin by the end of 2021, with the facility fully operational by early 2023.

Salaries for around 20 office jobs at the Hutto site will range from $50,000 to $150,000 per year, with production positions starting at $15 an hour.

The City said the company decided on the Hutto location thanks to the existing infrastructure of the Innovation Business Park, the proximity to the Texas State Technical College and the opportunity to expand at the planned location.
