AUSTIN, Texas — A global real estate brokerage firm is now setting its sights on Austin, not only opening up an office in Central Texas but bringing the entire company to town for an annual conference.
The Agency, a billion-dollar brokerage, hosted the company's annual 3-day forum at the Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa, with agents from 100 offices and 11 countries making their way to Austin.
The company's founder and CEO Mauricio Umansky said one of the reasons he chose Austin to be the host city this year is because of the new office the agency launched on West Sixth Street this past week.
"Austin's real estate is just fantastic. There's been so many people moving here from all over the world, from all over the United States, primarily a lot of California people that have come out here and I have a lot of friends that have been moving out here. We just love the Austin real estate market, it's very tech-savvy, very tech forward," Umansky said.
The new office will employ 24 agents that will serve the Central Texas area. Umansky said the future of Texas real estate is bright and the ongoing growth of Austin is what drove the company to open an office here.

"There's a lot going on here, a lot of business, pro-business and I just love it," Umansky said.
