AUSTIN, Texas — Applications open June 25 for the city of Austin's Thrive and Elevate Grant programs.
The City of Austin Economic Development Department is offering $13 million to local arts and cultural organizations. The Elevate grant provides up to $80,000, and the Thrive grants provide up to $150,000 to organizations, individual artists and creative businesses.
Applicants must be located in the Austin-Round Rock metro area and have at least one year of experience with cultural or arts programming. Businesses have until July 23 to apply.
“Now in its second year, these funding opportunities were developed in collaboration with the creative community. These grants support a diverse group of cultural producers who promote equity, prioritize inclusive programming and represent a broad range of artistic disciplines,” Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, director of the Economic Development Department, said. “Based on community feedback, the Thrive and Elevate Grants will further invest in Austin’s cultural landscape.”
Applicants for Elevate may also choose to be considered for the Thrive grant for Austin arts nonprofits, the city said. This grant offers funding to sustain and grow local arts organizations that are reflective of Austin’s cultures.
Around 35 organizations will be awarded grants ranging from $85,000 to $150,000. Funding is for general operating support, project support and institutional improvements.
