$2M in cocaine seized by K9 unit in Fayette County during traffic stop

K9 unit Kolt with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office has come up with another big drug bust in a traffic stop that seized 20 kilos in cocaine.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas — The video above was posted on April 1, 2019.

On Thursday, K9 unit Kolt with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office assisted Sgt. Randy Thumann in a traffic stop that seized 20 kilos of cocaine.

According to deputies, the amount of cocaine seized in the traffic stop has an estimated street value of $2 million.

The stop occurred on I-10 near the 664 mile-marker on Thursday morning.

The cocaine was found inside rolled up commercial tarps in the bed of the truck after the driver gave the officer consent to search the vehicle, according to deputies.

33-year-old Robert Lee Prado, from Dallas, was the driver of the vehicle and was arrested for felony possession.
