AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) has arrested a man in connection with a homicide that happened on East Riverside Drive early Monday morning.

APD said officers responded to a call of shots fired just before 1:30 a.m. on East Riverside, between the AutoZone and the Advanced Auto. When they arrived on the scene, officers found a man, identified as 28-year-old Jader Francisco Tinoco-Salgado, with multiple injuries. He died at the scene.

On Friday, APD announced the arrest of 35-year-old Elvin Salvador Tinoco-Orosco in connection to the incident. According to the investigation, Tinoco-Orosco shot Tinoco-Slagado, his cousin, after the two got into an argument and rapidly escalated.
Tinoco-Orosco is charged with first degree murder.
