KYLE, Texas — A woman was arrested following an AMBER Alert issued out of Kyle, Texas.
Editor's note: KVUE corrected an earlier version of this story that incorrectly stated Glasgow was the mother of the children.
The alert was issued just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. About 30 minutes after the alert was issued, a vehicle connected to the alert was found in Caldwell County. The two children were found safe and 20-year-old Kylei Glasgow was taken into custody without resistance.
Kyle police took custody of Glasgow after she was initially detained by Caldwell County deputies. Authorities say they found fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, and LSD after searching the vehicle.
Glasgow was booked into the Hays County jail and is charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child, five counts of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication, as well as an unrelated warrant from a previous case.
Investigators are still working to determine if more charges are applicable.
Police said officers were notified around Tuesday afternoon that the two children had been taken by an adult family friend to go fishing. They left from the Plum Creek neighborhood that morning and their mother had not heard from them since, police said.
Glasgow left her cellphone and credit cards at the residence and had no way to get in touch with the children’s mother, according to police.
