AUSTIN, Texas — The Pflugerville Independent School District (PfISD) officially has a new superintendent.
On April 4, the PfISD board unanimously approved Dr. Quintin Shepherd as the lone superintendent finalist. Shepherd has most recently served as the superintendent for Victoria ISD in southeast Texas.
On April 29, the board finalized Shepherd's contract. He is set to take over for interim superintendent Steve Flores, who has served in the role since December 2023. Flores succeeded Douglas Killian, who resigned that month.
Shepherd said he is honored to lead the district and already has a plan for his first 100 days in office.
"Through this plan, I aim to immerse myself in the warmth and richness of the Pflugerville ISD family," Shepherd told the board on April 29. "The cornerstone of this initiative is a comprehensive listening and learning tour, where I'll have the pleasure of hearing directly from the voices that matter most: our students, parents, educators, staff and community."
Shepherd will officially start his new job on May 28.
