Round Rock ISD approves 3.5% pay raise for employees

The salary increase will reportedly cost the district $14.2 million.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Employees at Round Rock Independent School District received some good news Friday.

The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved a 3.5% pay increase for employees district-wide for the 2019-2020 school year.

Teachers, librarians and nurses will see a $1,800 general pay increase and counselors and other licensed professions will see a $2,212 general increase. Other pay grades will receive an increase equal to 3.5% of the pay range midpoint.

“Our teachers, campus and District staff at all levels are the backbone of our District and, as a Board, we are dedicated to serving in their best interests, which includes providing competitive compensation,” Board President Chad Chadwell said. “We pledge to continue investing in our staff as they remain dedicated to serving our community and impacting the lives of thousands of students each day.”

The salary increase will reportedly cost the district $14.2 million.
