AUSTIN, Texas — The eyes of Texas will be upon them all their lives. More than 9,000 students graduated from the University of Texas at Austin Saturday night.
According to the university, 9,591 students graduated at the 136th annual spring commencement ceremony. Around 15,000 people were in attendance.
UT said the students hailed from 48 states, plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, and a whopping 73 other countries.
The keynote speaker was former UT Austin student Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies.
"I'm here to tell you what you have gained here by completing your degree will be indispensable out there. In a world that doesn't wait, you should be proud of taking the time to finish what you started," Dell told the crowd. "It took me a lot longer than four years to learn the value of patience."
